Whether you’re expecting your first (or 2nd, 3rd or 4th) baby, antenatal classes are a really important part of the preparation for parenthood. Whilst group antenatal classes (including those run by the NCT and local hospitals) are ideal for some, other couples prefer private classes at home.
I set up Louise’s Antental Classes in 2014 to offer these private classes to couples in St Albans, Hertfordshire, North London and the surrounding areas. Whether you’re the sort of people who don’t feel comfortable in groups, work unconventional hours or just want 1:1 care, my classes are for you.
My aim is for women to feel empowered and confident in their body’s ability throughout the stages of labour and birth. It is also important to me that your birth partner is included in all steps of your journey. I ensure that they understand how to best support you and help you make decisions as labour progresses.
There are no guarantees for the birth you may plan, as there are so many variables that can occur during labour. If you fully understand the process of birth and the reasons why things can drift away from your original plans, then you and your birth partner/s can cope and adapt with these changes. These coping strategies can also be used when your baby is born and the real challenges start!!
I also cover what happens after your baby has been born, both just after delivery and in following weeks; this includes breastfeeding.
All my courses are based around current NHS guidance and over 15 years experience as a midwife in NHS hospitals. I aim to make them relaxed, enjoyable and informative. All my classes come with unlimited follow-up support after your class(es) for any queries or questions that you may have.
I offer two types of classes, one for first time parents

and the other for parents who already have children (again, click on the picture)
