Antenatal care is an important part of your pregnancy. All appointments are designed to ensure the wellbeing of mum and baby. Being pregnant is an exciting time but it can be daunting and worrying too – my private antenatal care can help you throughout your pregnancy
How my private antenatal care works
In early pregnancy, you will see your midwife for your booking in appointment and again at around 16 weeks. For first time mums, the next midwifery appointment will be at 25 weeks and for subsequent pregnancies, it will be at 28 weeks.
During this time, you may have lots of questions and feel like you need more support.
My private antenatal care appointments are there to offer you reassurance when you need it most. They take place in your home at a time and date that suits you. I am flexible and can provide your appointment at short notice if necessary.
Antenatal care appointments cost from £100 depending on where you live. They are also available as ‘add on’ services if you’re having an antenatal class or a birth plan chat as well as being part of my comprehensive care packages.
I will carry out all the checks appropriate to your gestation. This means checking your blood pressure, testing your urine and more importantly, listening to your baby’s heartbeat!
My findings will be fully explained to you at the time. You will receive a copy of the antenatal check by email for you to keep. By law, I need to keep these records for 25 years – and I can show you my full policies about this if you would like to see them.
The appointments can be a one off or you can book several appointments. They can replace your existing routine appointments with your midwife or they can be extra appointments in addition to your NHS care. The only exclusion to this is the 28 week appointment, as your bloods will be taken and Anti D given if appropriate and I can’t offer these services.
The appointments come with free follow up, which means you can contact me at any time for advice and support for as long as you need me.
The prices is for appointments within a 20 mile radius of St Albans, Hertfordshire. I am more than happy to travel further afield – mileage is charged at 45p per mile after the first 20 miles in each direction on each visit.
